‘Naked Soul’ is a combination of the artwork of Michael Howley and the poetry of his wife Joanne Aldersley Howley.

“Written and painted through a period of struggle for both of us, the images and words often express similar emotions. Sometimes a poem would be triggered by a painting and sometimes I would select a piece that seemed to reflect the feelings of a poem that Jo had already written. We wanted to fuse the words and images together visually as well, hence the style of text overlay.It has been a labour of love and we hope to bring it before a wider audience who may feel a resonance with the words and images. We have created a collection of cards, prints and small handmade concertina books of the collection (titled ‘Poetry from a Fractured Mind’)”
